What Are Red Packets?

Red packets allow you to send digital currency gifts to friends. You can create random or fixed amounts of tokens and distribute them to multiple recipients. Your friends can claim the digital currency in these red packets using a password on the OKX App or website.

How to Send Red Packets in the OKX App

  1. Log in to the OKX App, tap the top-left corner to enter [Feature Plaza], then select [Red Packet]. (Version must be ≥ 6.85.0)

  2. Tap [Send Red Packet] and choose a cover design.

    • Note: Creating red packets requires completing identity and security verification. If not yet verified, follow the prompts to proceed.
  3. Select the digital currency and amount for your red packet.
  4. Enter a "greeting message."

  5. Choose recipients—two methods are available:

    • Method 1: Select a contact from your address book.
    • Method 2: Generate a shareable link (max 500 recipients). Configure random/fixed amounts per claim.
  6. After setup, send directly to friends, who will receive SMS and in-app notifications.

How to Claim Red Packets

Two claim methods:

  1. Link: Open the shared red packet link.
  2. Password: Navigate to OKX App → Feature Plaza → Red Packet, tap "+" → "Claim Red Packet," then enter the password.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Identity verification is required for sending/claiming red packets.

  2. Unclaimed red packets expire after 7 days (refunded automatically).

    • Update: From October 4, 2024, 16:00 (UTC+8), the claim window shortens to 48 hours.
  3. Red packet value cannot exceed your daily withdrawal limit (varies by user tier). Check your 24-hour withdrawal quota (USD) for details.
  4. Refer to the Terms of Service for full policies. Regional restrictions may apply due to local regulations.

Q1: Can I cancel a sent red packet?
A1: No—once sent, red packets cannot be canceled but will refund if unclaimed after expiry.

Q2: Is there a fee for sending red packets?
A2: OKX charges no fees, but blockchain network fees may apply.

Q3: Why can’t I claim a red packet?
A3: Ensure you’ve completed identity verification and the packet hasn’t expired.
